After several months of preparation and a pause due to the events that occurred this winter on the site, work on the Dikwe demonstrator is resuming in Boulogne-sur-Mer. A new milestone for Wave-Op, which is continuing the development of its technology dedicated to wave energy.
A construction site that is resuming on the Boulogne coastline
This winter's events remind us just how much coastal infrastructure is on the front line against maritime hazards. In Boulogne-sur-Mer, Storm Goretti notably led to a pause in the construction work, allowing time to carry out the necessary interventions on the infrastructure.
These events also highlight the challenges facing coastal regions today. It is precisely with this perspective in mind that Wave-Op is developing Dikwe: a technology designed to produce local energy from ocean swells while integrating with coastal protection structures and contributing to their resilience.
