Ocean Innovation Trophy winner

In early November, Groupe Legendre's wave-powered seawall project was honored at the Trophées Innovation Océan. Supported by Banque Populaire Grand Ouest and its Crédit Maritime Grand Ouest brand, this ceremony rewards innovative projects linked to ocean preservation and blue growth.

Among the 53 projects submitted to the jury, Dikwe stood out for its innovative nature. Developed in partnership with Geps Techno and Ifremer, it offers a solution for port areas wishing to accelerate their energy transition and modify the use of dykes.

Not only do they protect the coastline, they also convert wave energy into electricity, thanks to a system of oscillating flaps driven by the waves. In this way, wave power is converted into sustainable electricity.

After two years of laboratory trials and conclusive tank tests in Ifremer's wave basin in 2020, the consortium continued testing in 2022 with the installation of a 1/4-scale prototype off the coast of Brest. This latest successful experiment convinced the Group to launch the construction of a full-scale demonstrator by 2025, in northern France. For further information, please contact Quentin HENRY.
